I design and make fine objects and furniture in my workshop in St Leonards-on-Sea, UK, using a combination of traditional woodworking machines and hand tools. Each piece is made from carefully sourced wood, worked from rough-sawn timber to its final form.
The work spans a spectrum from functional objects to sculpture, with spoons at the most sculptural end, bowls and candles in between, and furniture at the functional end, all tied together by a curiosity for how things are made and a sensitivity to material.
The fine objects are carved or turned from unseasoned local wood, celebrating the material and its transformation. They invite a reconsideration of everyday objects and the possibilities of form and use.
The furniture draws on archetypal wooden forms and traditional joinery. Structure becomes part of the visual expression, balancing lightness with strength, and aiming for a level of refinement that does not erase the making, but retains a sense of human calibration and decision-making.
The current collection includes three stools, produced in limited runs, alongside fine objects—bowls, candles, and Sculpture Spoons—made individually.
Work is available through a selection of shops in the UK and on a made-to-order basis. Lead times typically range from 4–8 weeks, depending on the piece.
