R O B’ S   C A B I N E T   

This cabinet was inspired by Hans Wegners ‘Valet Chair’ that he drew after a discussion with two friends about the problem of folding clothes and placing them neatly back in the closet before bedtime. I think Wegner and his friends touched upon a very recognisable truth, that chairs often becomes coat hangers, and so when Rob asked me to design a free standing cabinet I pondered on a cabinet-structure that would serve the same truth, and make a place where to throw cloth before bedtime, or perhaps other things that are temporarily not where they belong.

It’s made from solid oak and the cabinet is fumed to a darker contrasting tone.  Thank you Rob for the opportunity to make and develop this piece.
