This small vessel is turned from sycamore collected from a tree surgeon on my way to the workshop one autumn morning.

Part of an ongoing exploration of form and movement in wood, the vessel is turned from dry timber, then exposed to heat or moisture to encourage subtle changes in its shape. Its thin walls allow the wood to ripple into an irregular form.

The surface is scorched and finished with natural oil.
