I design and make furniture and objects from carefully sourced wood in my workshop in St Leonards-on-Sea, UK, using a combination of traditional woodworking machines and hand tools. Each piece is made from rough-sawn timber through to the final finish.


The work explores a balance between lightness and strength, at times holding a sense of visual tension, or moving between utility and sculptural presence. It is groundedin material and guided by a sensitivity to how things are made. Joinery and structure are integral to the work, becoming part of the visual expression—through exposed joints, planar forms, and shifts in proportion. I’m interested in a level of refinement that does not erase its own making, where decisions remain present and the work carries a sense of human calibration. The design reflects an approach rooted in traditional joinery, refinement, and simplicity.


The current collection includes three stools, produced in limited runs, alongside a series of objects—bowls, spinning tops, and sculptural spoons—made individually.

Work is available through a selection of shops in the UK and on a made-to-order basis. Lead times typically range from 4–8 weeks, depending on the piece.

ROB’S CLOTH 
RAIL CABINET
An oak cabinet framed by four octagonal 
legs that extend upward to meet in a cross rail. 
The space above suggests a cloth rail—
but equally invites other uses: a hanging plant, 
lamp, towel, or cup. The cabinet itself is 
fumed to a darker, contrasting tone.

I design and make furniture and fine objects in small production runs and bespoke commissions. 
Each piece is handcrafted in my St Leonards-on-Sea workshop, where I mill the timber myself to ensure complete control over the grain and final finish. 

My approach is to keep the design quiet, with structural integrity and outer simplicity,&#38;nbsp; and a single detail—a refined form, a contrast in proportion, or an exposed joint—to reveal the making.

	THE STORYI grew up in Copenhagen and later moved to London, where I worked as a scenic design assistant and developed a growing interest in making. This eventually led me to study bench joinery at the Building Crafts College, where I was able to merge my passion for objects and craft—and I haven’t looked back since. In 2022 I relocated to St Leonards-on-Sea. The move enabled me to establish a workshop of the right scale for a small independent maker, while also placing me closer to the woods that inspire and supply much of my material.
	

The Workshop and WoodsMy workshop is equipped with a small set of traditional woodworking machines that allow me to prepare sawn timber for furniture making, alongside hand tools that I use to refine and finish each component.The wood I work with is sourced either from English Woodlands Timber or nearby woodlands. The leather comes from British Pasture Leather, and the paper cord is from the original Danish supplier.

MATERIAL &#38;nbsp;Natural Oak / Fumed Oak / Elm / Apple / Chestnut Danish Papercord

The J Stool can be made from various hardwoods—oak, elm, chestnut, or apple—selected for durability and character. Its gently curved seat is hand-woven with traditional Danish paper cord and rests on tapered legs, blending sculptural elegance with ergonomic comfort.

The name comes from its first commissioner, Jordan, who helped bring a long-held sketch into reality.

The ISO stool and bar stool are available in three heights, made from solid oak with a minimal leather seat sourced from British Pasture Leather, available in brown, black, natural, or bordeaux.

Footrests are set at different levels to suit varying body heights, and when viewed from a certain angle, these staggered lines create a subtle optical illusion—an isometric view, hence the name. The design’s quiet simplicity can also be shifted with a two-toned wood option.

The F. Stool can be made from a variety of woods, or in a mix of two species on request. First made from spare off-cuts as a joinery experiment, the F Stool quickly became the most-used seat at home. Its sturdy, compact form balances utility with quiet character, which earned it a permanent place in the collection.
